Event Overview
Veterans Exploration Therapy is heading to the San Luis Valley for one of the most unique experiences we have ever offered. This isn't just a visit to an attraction; participants will join the "Gator-Aid" program at the Colorado Gators Reptile Park, a rescue sanctuary for unwanted exotic pets.
You will assist park staff in safely capturing and restraining alligators so they can receive essential veterinary care. The day begins with a comprehensive safety briefing and hands-on training with smaller gators (one to two feet in length). As the group gains confidence, you will graduate to assisting with larger animals, including gators reaching up to ten feet long.

Important Safety Disclaimer
Participants must understand that these are real alligators. They are powerful wild animals capable of causing serious injury if not handled correctly. While trained professionals will guide every step of the experience, safety depends entirely on participants listening carefully and following all instructions given by the park staff.
All participants are expected to remain focused, follow directions immediately, and maintain a serious attitude during the entire experience. Horseplay, distractions, or failure to follow instructions will not be tolerated.
If a participant does not adhere to the safety guidelines or instructions provided by the handlers, they will be removed from the activity immediately and may be asked to leave the program for the remainder of the day.
The safety of the participants, the staff, and the animals is the highest priority. By participating in this experience, individuals acknowledge that they are working around large wild animals and must follow all rules and guidance provided by the instructors at all times.
